April 15 Special Strategic Plan & Budget GPC

The fourth in a series of GPC meetings occurred this morning at 8am. Of note is that the same general agenda has been used for the past 4 days with some items added and some items removed (such as the council motion to prohibit sheltering in certain parks) as we’ve gone along. The focus of today (the third 8am meeting in a row) was to finalize proposed amendments to the draft strategic plan, and unlike with the proposed budget amendments, an update document was not provided on today’s agenda. April 14 Special Budget & Strategic Plan GPC

There was a 3rd meeting (video here) this morning as Council gathered in their GPC format to finalize amendments to the draft financial plan and start working on proposed amendments to the draft strategic plan. Once again it was an 8am meeting and Mayor Helps was actually the one who let me into City Hall this morning. April 13 Special Budget GPC

The meeting this morning started at 8am. City Hall was not publicly opened yet and many lights were still off. Council chambers were alive though and they will be alive at the same time for the next two days as the conclusion of today’s meeting only saw resolution of budget amendments. April 9th GPC Summary & Observations

There was a three hour meeting this afternoon (Early Thoughts here) that had an ambitious agenda – Council was supposed to consider public input on the draft strategic plan and draft financial plan. They were then suppose to make decisions on how to allocate $4.68 million dollars worth of money not currently accounted for in the financial plan. Some of this got done today. Priority Based Budgeting – Objective #9

Today we looked at Objective # 9: Complete a Multi-Modal and Active Transportation Network. As noted in this draft Strategic plan (see pages 12-13), this was the most popular objective with possibly the largest number of associated Outcomes and Actions. I have made a direct clip of their Feb 3 discussion of this objective and provided it below.
